Zanzibar Excursion: 7 days/6 nights

Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar

• Arrive at Zanzibar Airport and transfer to Zanzibar Stone Town.
• Explore Stone Town, the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through its winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques, and grand Arab houses, unchanged for centuries.
• Overnight at Tembo Apartments.

Day 2: Stone Town & Changuu Island (Prison Island)

• Take a tour of the most scenic parts of Stone Town. Visit the former slave market, the Cathedral Church of Christ, the Sultan’s Palace, the House of Wonders, and the Arab Fort and Natural Museum. Learn about Zanzibar’s history and culture. See the bustling market, winding alleyways, and ornately carved doors.
• In the afternoon, take a local boat to Changuu Island (Prison Island). Visit the giant Aldabra tortoises and beautiful peacocks, relax on the beach, or go snorkeling. Return to Stone Town in the evening.
• Overnight at Tembo Apartments.

Day 3: Safari Blue Sea Adventure

• Enjoy a full day of sailing, snorkeling, and sunbathing on a traditional dhow, a type of sailing boat used in the Indian Ocean.
• Set sail from Fumba and explore the Menai Bay, where dolphins are often sighted. Go snorkeling on the coral reefs at Kwale Sandbank. Climb an ancient baobab tree on Kwale Island. Savor a delicious seafood barbecue lunch on the boat. Swim in a stunning natural lagoon before returning to your hotel.

Day 4: Dolphin & Jozani Forest Tour

• Go dolphin watching off the coast of Kizimkazi. Spend time swimming with the dolphins if you’re lucky enough to spot them. Take a boat ride through the mangroves before heading to Jozani Forest, home to the endangered red colobus monkey. Hike through the forest with a guide and learn about the plants and animals.

Day 5: Spice Tour

• Take a spice tour in Kizimbani Village. Learn about Zanzibar’s long history of spice cultivation. See tropical fruits growing in the spice plantations and try some fresh spices. Discover the traditional uses of spices in Zanzibar cuisine and medicine.

Day 6: Zanzibar Relaxation

• Enjoy a day of leisure in Zanzibar. Relax on the beach, go shopping, or explore Stone Town at your own pace.

Day 7: Departure

• Enjoy your last day in Zanzibar before transferring to Zanzibar Airport for your departure flight.
